Terms used in Practicing the Miraculous.
- The Forgetting
- The process by which we lose access to who we were before we arrived: a condition, not a single event.
- The Veil
- The barrier between what I know now and what I knew before. When it thins, the Signal comes through.
- The Remembering
- Recovering something old and returning to that connection in daily life. The mechanism is naming.
- The Signal
- The truth underneath the noise. The practices turn down the noise so the Signal can come through.
- Noise
- Fear, shame, inherited patterns, and the voice that asks, “Who do I think I am?”
- Coherence (C)
- The result of the Formula, from 0.2 to 100. A weather report, not a grade.
- Emotional Charge (E)
- The fuel: real emotion, not only positive emotion. Rated 1–5.
- Belief (B)
- In the author’s framework, conviction built from lived experience, not affirmations. Rated 1–10.
- Trust (T)
- In the author’s framework, willingness to let go of control. Rated 1–10.
- Interference (I)
- Everything that keeps the Veil thick. The denominator and the most powerful variable. Rated 1–10.
- The Formula
- C = E × (B + T) ÷ I. A naming protocol: the math is scaffolding.
- The Seven Domains
- Health and energy, relationships, work and career, money and security, growth and learning, fun and creativity, and purpose and legacy.
- The Seven Degrees
- A description of how an inherited belief can reach into every domain of life through connections.
- The Flywheel
- Experience builds belief; belief thins the Veil; a thinner Veil produces more experience.
- Interference Archaeology
- Tracing an interference pattern to its source: who said this first, when was it installed, and is it mine?
- The Blank Meditation
- Five minutes of box breathing, two questions, and the word BLANK.
- The Morning 5 and Evening 5
- In the morning: breathe, scan and score, intend, thank, and Blank. At night: review, score, and release.
- Surrender
- Not passivity: creating conditions and then getting out of the way.
