Practicing the Miraculous
A Field Guide to Everyday Miracles
I believe the miraculous is available to ordinary people, in ordinary lives. Learning to recognize it, and making room for it, is something we can practice.
Practicing the Miraculous is a field guide to that exploration. Drawing on twenty years of practice and experiences that include delivering messages from the dead, I offer a way to work with the fear, shame, and inherited beliefs that can obscure a deeper connection to life. I call that work remembering.
Inside are practical experiments in quieting the mind, naming what you carry, asking for guidance, and releasing your grip on how the answer should arrive. A ten-minute daily routine gives you a place to begin. Four questions and a notebook help you recognize patterns, record what surprises you, and see what changes over time.
Bring your curiosity and your doubts. Try the experiments in your own life. Pay attention to what comes through.

The tools we will describe are ordinary. Breathing. Sitting still. Naming what you feel. Writing a number on a page. Nothing in this book requires special abilities. It requires nothing but introspection, honesty, and ten minutes a day.
