Your information
Privacy and reader controls
The companion includes public resources, private writing tools and optional services. Each works differently.
Worksheets and scores
Formula readings, the 30-day tracker and the 7-Day Ask use this browser’s local storage. Other worksheet drafts stay in the open page until you export or print them; leaving the page loses an unsaved draft. They are not automatically sent to the community, the book assistant or a mailing list. Other people who use this browser profile may be able to read them. Clearing browser data can remove them.
Use the export and delete controls in each tool to keep a copy or remove your entries. Downloaded files are yours to manage on your device.
Practice Kit and practice emails
To get the Practice Kit, subscribe to occasional practice emails and confirm your email address. The confirmation link opens the download page. Online chapter tools remain available without subscribing.
The embedded signup form is hosted by Beehiiv. Your email address and subscription choice go directly to Beehiiv, which sends confirmation emails and manages subscriptions and unsubscribe controls. Loading the form also connects your browser to Beehiiv. Its privacy policy applies to those requests. This signup does not use the companion’s subscription API or create a subscription record in its database. We do not add Beehiiv’s optional campaign-attribution script.
Use the unsubscribe link in a newsletter to stop future practice emails. Signing in to the community does not subscribe you. A submitted form is not proof that confirmation email has arrived. The download page and PDFs use shareable links; email confirmation is a delivery step, not a file-access restriction.
Reader community
When the community is enabled, Supabase handles email sign-in and stores your member profile, participation and moderation records. Your display name and contributions are visible to signed-in community members whose accounts are active. Your sign-in email is not displayed in discussions. Choose what you share with that audience in mind.
You can edit or delete your contributions, block a reader, report content and request account deletion. An account-deletion request replaces your contributions with deleted-post markers and queues removal of your sign-in identity by a background job. Other readers’ replies may remain. A deleted-member marker and redacted report and moderation records remain for community administration; deletion does not erase every record of an interaction. Blocking filters interactions in the community. It cannot remove copies someone already made.
Closed reports are removed from the application database after 90 days when the retention job runs. Abuse-control counters are removed after 48 hours. Hosting backups and vendor retention have separate rules; this notice does not promise immediate removal from every backup.
Book assistance
The Ask the book page offers chat hosted by Chatbase when available. Chatbase loads only after you choose “Open book chat.” Loading it connects your browser to Chatbase. Messages you enter there go directly to Chatbase and its service providers. We do not attach your worksheet entries, community account, sign-in email or mailing-list subscription to the chat.
Chatbase may retain conversations and service records. Its privacy policy describes processing, retention and deletion requests. We do not promise that chats are anonymous, unrecorded or immediately deleted. Avoid entering sensitive personal information. Closing the chat removes it from this page; it does not delete provider records.
Answers are generated and may be wrong. Check chapter references against the book. This companion does not provide medical, legal or financial advice.
Cookies, service records and links
Sign-in uses session cookies. The hosting and service providers process network requests needed to deliver pages, files and enabled services. The application does not add advertising pixels or send your worksheet, chat or community text as marketing events.
Opening Amazon or another external resource takes you to that provider’s site and privacy practices. A retailer click tells us only that a link was opened, if optional measurement is enabled; it does not tell us whether a purchase happened.
Optional usage counts
Allow counts of resource starts, completed chapter-resource downloads and retailer clicks. This choice is off until you enable it. It does not include your writing, scores, messages or email address.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control override this choice. You can turn it off here at any time.
Service availability
A service that is not connected will say so before reporting a successful action. Public practices and direct downloads remain available.
Community controls are available from your community account. Email subscription controls are provided in Beehiiv messages.
